Concerning Chapter 2 skip

We've received plenty of feedback about players being unhappy about a possible skip of chapter 2 if you meet it's story conditions early. We are looking for ways to adress this, in-game, likely through giving similar clarity and choice in dialogue as you get before the final choice of joining a faction.

yeah i did the same thing because i didnt want to lose out on one factions access as i still wanted to finish the talisman quest

maybe to mitigate the need to pick and choose what if you could disguise yourself and use that merchants method of gainning access to the nemeton camp or something.

What I want to know and nobody seems able to answer, is if there are any quests that are act 2 specific, that we missed out on? If there are none, then it isnt such a big deal. Though it should of course be more transparent.

How do players avoid skipping chapter 2 currently?

Players avoid skipping chapter 2 by joining a faction before finishing every quest in the forest primeval. That would have been chapter 2. Ironically, by trying to avoid story content you are doing story content early, but that's the nature of the beast I guess.
No, you are not missing much by the skip, hypothetically it may make missing some steps for Gawan and the revisit of the woodcutter camp easier to miss though.

We are working on making it similarly clear in a dialogue choice than the faction join.

Right now, you are pretty much FORCED to join the Druids' faction to advance, you can't go inside the Druids area, unless you join Nementon. We should be able to go inside just to show the Heiress the rune.

You can also show the crystal to the remnant's druids.

I'd suggest just continuing on, chapter 2 would have been a mission where your faction sends you into the forest primeval to find a way through the blackflame. If you have a spark, you've already done what that chapter would entail, the other quests in it are also accessible in chapter 1. Two side-quests are currently slightly affected but as far as I'm aware just made slightly trickier and not impossible, and, well, the pacing I guess.

I just completed chapter 2 AFTER joining Nemeton and it felt mostly seamless. Only gnawing thought I had was whether or not The Bonded counted as a third faction and if doing their quests would have me join them instead.

I couldn't help myself either, I wandered off and was level 15 before I even made it to Nemeton. Glad to know I didn't miss much, and the devs really did a great job of mostly seamlessly letting you bring up you've already done this or that quest.

Just make more games. Please. It's like a fckin desert out here and we've been wandering for almost 10 years now.

Hey devs, I think I may have screwed up the story and got myself locked.

So I got through all the forest quests during Act 1, up until the part where I need to attach the talisman to the Mother Root, with Deimo waiting there ... But the thing is, the Mother Root is not there! So I wandered off towards the south part and stumbled myself onto another Mother Root on the south part of the forest. When I tapped on it, it offered me an option to attach the talisman. Then a small boar appeared, ran off towards north, and I couldn't find it ever since.

After that, I decided to progress with the story. Moved on to Act II by joining Nemeton, and finally got the forest quest on main, but Deimo is still standing there telling me to attach the talisman to the Mother Root. But the difference is, now the Mother Root exists near Deimo but I no longer have the talisman!

Help please :(

Can you send a bug report with F2 from within the game and the "Stuck" option, then we can fix your savegame :)
We try to fix that bug with a future patch
