Whats your fav weapon and why?

I stick to the 1h sword for now, with shield. I like attacking quick and dodging takes too much stamina for me

Sword and Board for sure. Once you get good at perfect block and lean into bleeding, things get significantly easier.

Yes, beaten the game also, I like the two-handed ones best personally. Starting daggers don't feel that worth it in comparison but once you've got talents for them and fitting trinkets they glow up. Also daggers are unique in that their secondary attack turns focus into pure damage.

First time round you can go more the druid/battlemage route, as magic becomes significantly more accessible in midgame and is very powerful, but also works with the combo-reliant flow-system. Increading your Mind-stat gives you a higher baseline focus even without combos though also, so you can make that your specialty. Some melee will always be necessary though I believe.

I haven't played much with the other weapons, but the 2H axes pack a punch and hit in a wide arc. Now that I crafted myself a ring boosting my stamina regen, being able to dodge more and choose my openings, fights are much easier.

Spear for speed and medium range, utilising dodge mechanic. Tends to also proc Bleed alot if you charge the attack up by holding M1. Shield is optional but then you loose the secondary ability of the weapon.

2 handed Axes after that for raw damage - they also have good range.

Swords are good for certain enemies. I find using swords against bears works really well - hit dodge (or pull back) rinse repeat until terminated.

Daggers I haven't played much with - will do so once I get Mind to 70-80 so I cant test the focus damage add.

Bows to slow until you get the trinket that adds 1 arrow and speeds up reloading.

Slings - again to slow when a mob is winding up a big attack - just takes to long.

Magic - beats it all hands down. But you will want to max mind.

I went 30 strength off the bat - with spear feats to get me to mid game. I saved all my points and am just stacking mind - mind - mind. Currently 30 STR - 55 MIND. Using all the stat potion ingredients for Mind or Focus.

Finding these ingredients is easy there is a quest in the southern map in the moors that will teach you how to find the rare plant required.

Sword and board. But I'm a full mage now. So fiery breath Dovakiin build.

I'm trying to figure out what build would use Dex since it doesn't seem viable for any. If you can use a shield, you perfect block for auto crits. If you use daggers, then you pump focus and burst everything down with MB2. Axes just pump str and smack things hard. And you don't use ranged cause you'll be fighting more than one enemy 90% of the time.

I feel like Dex should lower stamina consumption or something. Then it would be viable for bow builds since you can backdash 3 time and reload instead of unequipping your bow and putting a real weapon in that slot. It's bad enough that you need to equip 3 accessories to make bows viable and by then you've probably already beaten most of the game with a different weapon.
