Console commands/Cheats?
Really, really enjoying the game on Steam deck, you guys did an amazing job. One question, and please don't judge, are there any console commands or possibilities to enter cheat codes? I realize some players will likely be offended by me even asking, but it's a way I enjoy exploring and playing and I paid for the game so can play it how I like. Anyway, aside from all that, any possibilities for this in the game, devs?

Thanks in advance for the reply and also for this truly wonderful and fun game!!!

Currently, no, but the devs are considering possibly adding this in a future update. No promises on that yet though, sorry.

Ich verstehe - und danke schön! Hopefully, the devs will add it in future 🙏🏻🙏🏻. Still, phenomenal game and I'm having a blast in the meantime

There is a cheat mode in the game right now, with console commands for just about everything, it's just not accessible by default...

All games have a set of console commands. But most of the time, devs add a code that disable something like, the ability to earn achievements as soon as you play with cheats on.

No one should feel ashamed to use cheats or play the way they want in a SINGLE player game.

Tell us more - is there any way for us to access this?

Absolutely agree with you regarding single player-only cheats and stuff like that. I could actually care less about achievements and am only interested in poking around the game for my own fun and satisfaction. I can't think of too many games where this sort of thing is disabled, honestly, but maybe they are looking to really nail stability before they do enable thiat? (though I've not come across any significant bugs or anything)?

I think they want the player experiment the game as is, without the help of cheats, for the first couple of weeks. Most Unity games, have the debug code turned off. If you know how to fiddle with unity files (dll) you can find the debug command and turn it on. I haven't fiddle with files because I don't own the game yet.

P.S. Some games have a .JSON file that contains the debug command. But again, this is a Unity game that uses the ilcpp2 structure, so everything important is contained inside the .dlls

Games that comes to mind that disabled achievements: Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Hammerwatch games do also disable achievements, Necesse disable achievements for the character that enables it. But you can always fix that too, lol.

I made a mod to enable cheats and console commands, tried making a guide but because it contains files it's "under review".

Either way you can find it on Moddb if anyone wants it, MelonLoader is required for it to work.

That makes sense and is all good to know. Thanks for the explanation. I'm just a player and don't have a lot of real technical knowledge for things behind the scenes, sadly. I guess I'll just stick to playing as is - for now, anyway. It sounds like perhaps they will offer something cheaty in the next few weeks, then. Hope you pick up th game soon - certainly without the cheats, it's a fantastically fun time!

Super cool, thanks for your hard work!

Probably a dumb question, but do you know if melonloader runs on Linux/steam deck?

Yes it works on Linux and you can get it running on the steamdeck but it requires some setup, if you google melonloader steamdeck there's a few guides, check the one of Reddit.

Hey, thanks so much for all your help with this! I'll check into that and get it running, then💪🏻

I can happily verify that the Melonloader mod on moddb works fantastically. It's actually really stable. Haven't had any issues with it whatsoever, I'm pleased to report.

For the "additem" console command, I'm still working on a list of items you can spawn, though it's slow-going. I've got "additem item_berry" and "item_wine" and "item_honey" and a few others, but a ton of items don't follow that naming scheme. Hoping to find the item name for Hawthorne and all those fun herbs.

A list of all the items can be found in the description on the moddb page, here a link - https://pastebin.com/raw/rfkKV7HU

Example for adding 5 Wine -
