Switching skills in combat

New to game and combat seems a bit clunky but game is beautiful and very fun. Do you guys switch skills in combat via TAB? That seems a little clunky to me, but as far as I know at the moment you set one skill to use at a time.

You can switch with mouse wheel or number row. But you are still limited to one skills active at a time as far as I know, which may be one of the few criticism I have of this game.

It makes combat a lot less fluid than it could be imo.

There is an option in settings, with which enabled you will use skills immediately after selecting them.
