Focus potions if you're having trouble getting skills out? Stack up some bleeds to maximize dps? Wear all your 12 antimagic rings? Wait until the fireballs are closer to you then move through him so you're hitting both him and the fireballs. Presumably in act 4 you can just cast whirling energy, which I imagine would clear fireballs for you?
One of the earlier quests in act 4 (at least, for remnants; dunno if nemetons do these in the same order) nets you a legendary spear, so if you just run through that first one on the knoll you might do better afterwards.
Wasnt very hard with axe tbh.
im playing on insane mode iron save, i think i had to wait for the bygoness armor (picked light, i guess heavy might be a little bit more ez on the shamans or rune idk) just be sure to be able to build enough focus to be able to use shattering blow any time is needed, that needed time being when he cast the life drain spell, shattering blow will stop it right away. i have barbarian axe i think, also had to use 2 small healing potions during the fight.
Bleed works pretty well against them, there's one near some brambles that you can kill pretty easily by getting him stuck on them and then just focusing on defence until the bleed does its thing.
EDIT: BUT I found a way to beat him.
Solution: if you stick very close to a large stone, and hide behind it, the Leshen does not attack you. Is this by design or a bug, I am not sure. Maybe the Leshen needs to have a line-of-sight many seconds before attacking. I beat two Leshens this way; mostly with bleed damage.
Mind build allows for 70 plus focus just to be clear
