I feel that this game has a huge missed opportunity
Considering you spend maybe half of the gameplay time inside of the van, I think it would only make sense that you get upgrades to the van that affect the vehicle's performance. There should've been areas of the game that are inaccessible until you have said upgrades. For example, maybe there's a hilly region that you can not drive up due to slopes being covered in loose rocks, which would mean you need upgraded tires in order to navigate safely. Or maybe you could get your van waterproofed so you can drive through a road that's flooded in water. Or perhaps you need to have your vehicle's acceleration upgraded so you can jump a ramp and clear a chasm to get to a previously inaccessible area. Perhaps a battering ram on the front so you can destroy a wall or fence to pass through. This game should've really leaned into the experience that is centered around the van.

I think the collectibles should've went further. Maybe there's more you can do with them, whether it can be upgrading your vehicle, add cosmetics, or perhaps using them to help improve the livelihood of the town's residents by crafting things for them to use.

What do you guys think? Do you think there's more this game could've added?

IMO, Sauge should gain platforming/dungeon abilities beyond just the pulley. She could get things like wall jumps, the ability to remotely control the van to solve puzzles, or gliding.

That would've been sweet! Would've been really nice to see her gain more abilities as well, because she grows as a person. I wouldn't have minded the game doubling in length if it added all these things

I hoped I would get to build out the interior of the van to live in for extended expeditions... kitchen, bathroom, bed and command centre all contained in slide out modules.

I mean, to an extent there was - the main expanse was locked behind an upgrade, and most locations required an upgrade to the vehicle to open. But if they ever make a sequel then I'd love to see more like that, sure.

It's just... the upgrades to the vehicle were all... topical? They never really changed how the vehicle works in terms of driving. It was still the same. The upgrades were unrelated to the driving experience
