Ah true, but phantoms tend to be a massive pain in the ass to deal with. Also his focus-decreasing aura makes this even worse (as spells are the best counter to them usually).

And Anna. The biggest problem I had was Undergast because of the jellyfish in his squad.
If we talk about the list of the most problematic events that are caused by magicians: this is From the Red with the challenge of a huge number of units to your tower (depends on the difficulty level and maybe it was fixed) and Rohan Tahir, who even under normal conditions arranges a weekly robbery for 10 gold (when playing on impossible difficulty, the last thing you want is to give away gold)

uram and toren (or whatever hes called) are the best circle mages for event spawning...

moving in the overworld = his circle spell page triggering
start of the turn event = dude will summon a "demon lord"... kill the demon lord and you get possibly the most op item in the game >.> fully maxed its 100 percent elemental death white physical resist >.> every turn theres a chance for its weakness to change to 1 of the 4 above but its only -100 res so fully maxed it negates that while adding the other damage types as immune to you >.>..... now i dont think i need to say how/etc that can make you pretty much immortal.. also has a quest that grants you a demon... before dlc it was amazing... now? eh.
toren- (now this is absolutely disgusting)
moving in the overworld-
has 2 events that spawn stables... 1 event spawns just 1 and the other spawns 4 spread across a decent distance... repeatable as well.
likewise his spellpage quest triggers while moving in the overworld however the difference is (from the other mages ive tested) he will give different spell page tier/types randomly instead of a fixed school... rng/savescum/etc = guaranteed spellpage of your choice. PLUS currently the event is working in a way that if you attack the soldiers first and then exit the event instead of doing the second battle to continue the quest the first battle can be completed over and over... unlimited xp and slave units

isgrimm can teach you instant castle
daith can spawn tombs on the map... wonder if you could get that to happen in a demon area >.> use graverobber rune when such a place is in a demon area = potential spellpage reward
urgast can spawn libraries
ilana can shift rep towards you positive/negative for circle mages and cities
