Objectives?
What am I supposed to do? Defeat other mages? But ... that's lore breaking. Anything else? The lack of Quest Log is KILLING ME! It's not intuitive at all!

Protect main tower and do all quests your armies can reach. It is that simple, really.

yeah many players have said the same, like WTH?, you made a RPG without a quest log?
The quest log is triggered once you capture a large all-fire node, this is not explained well though IMO
Hmmm as i remember though, the quest log in the original is very obscure and even hard to find, i played Spellforce RTS original, and remember now i kept forgeting what i needed to do and how to find it on reload.

You don't have to defeat the other mages, just follow the main objectives to the end. I do agree a quest log would be good, though, to keep track of all the side quests.

Just check the Tower page in your spellbook, it will always tell you what your next major goal is.

yeah BUT to get there, you have to capture a MAJOR allfire node, no small accomplishment to a new player. Maybe im just slow, but i didnt know for a week what a major allfire node was, its easy to miss any blurbs about it.
Also once you know what they are and what they trigger, you best be careful as a new player, they trigger the wrath of the other mages, not to mention they may wipe out half your army trying to capture

It is single player game, you can always complete just 1 of 6 and then pretend you won and start a new game if you want.

No, I can't.

edit: Waste of money and SpellForce IP. This game is ... not for me. I mean, it is cute and all, but I just can't create a satisfactory "character" and then there are these annoying goals.

RpG's tend to be that way, do this quest is the goal, I was totally peed by the Witchers ending :p.... and dont get me going about Dragon age lol

okies....so you at least, 'sort of' like the game now? Or are the RpG goals still too annoying for you?....im still peed at the goal ending of Witcher....WTH i had to kill my adopted son Alvin? lol
and Dragon Age uggggh...how could thoses chantry pukes end up being the good guys?

i cant even remember the goal of the spellforce RtS game i played was, sorry Devs lol, yeah i played it but cant remember, something about saving the world i think, i just remember i could never find the log that told me what i should do next, like the OP complains about here
