Unlocking Fireforge and Uram Gor?

I went east with my tower from last starting position to get the quests regarding Uram Gor and Fireforge Landmark. Got the city to max level, there are no units or things to buy in it, and Fireforge is still locked. I popped lodge next to it and it's saying that I've a quest there. It says something about needing a key and that it can be obtained from the Dwarves. Possibly related, I have not done the last part of the Uram Gor quest yet. It's called Fire Lane, unit stack with that name spawned in a location that can only be accessed by flying to it, and it's too strong for all my fliers.

Never mind, I have it solved. I loaded my powerstack into my tower and carried it to the quest fight. After defeating it, new quest appeared next to Uram Gor, and it unlocked the forge. Still, it's a bit weird that the city has nothing to buy.

Yeah I thought it was strange too that the city never offers anything even with maxed faction. That last Fireforge quest, Fire Lane or whatever it's called was the toughest fight in the game for me. Much harder than the last fight that actually wins you the game.

It wasn't that hard for me. I exploited enslaved Bears and their roar ability. I had Crystalline Garden with two Focus Chanel upgrades.
7 focus on Bears gave me two times Roar.
6 focus on Brutes for Motivate. This ones gives three times motivate in a turn.
10 focus on enslaved Eather Beast.
Turn one. Cast some summons so they spend their fire breath abilities on them as they close in. Turn two bears into the middle of them. Roar once, motivate on bears, roar again, they're disordered. Eather Beast, mind control, one unit is mine, the rest get broken. Motivate on Eather Beast, mind control on another unit. Repeat and clean the rest with tanks.
