Paladins or war-trolls?

yea probably should through dwarves in too, cuz some players love them

BUT i use to try to get the orc town in my favor, at least 2nd city......but thinking once i learned how to do upgrades why?.....maybe paladins are just as good if not better?

Oddly I used a decent amount of pally on my first easy necro run they can get pretty strong I have not used orc/troll units yet much so I cant compare them though.

yeah i use to run over to the orc city, wast a lot of time getting them to like me, and im scratching my head why if palys are just as good :/

Different T3 unit flavors will depend on what kind of army you want to build. Cavalry are good for flanking and speed. Trolls can be leveled up/built to be really tank frontline that can soak for archers/mages.

Paladin can learn light javelin which makes them very usefull vs undead. WIth their light javelin i could finish raiths lvl15 knights in his tower while still being super tanky (well compared to my backline that was almost onehost before i could my first turn).

Paladins cannot be killed. The resurrect. That alone makes them probably the best tier 3 tanks. You can place them aggressively and not be afraid to lose them.

If you're playing necro you can give any of your T3 units auto revive after battles, or other strong perks to keep them alive. I assume artificer can make the glyph that gives any unit auto revive as well?

Artificer can but that gives you a revive with zero HP. I prefer use rune slot to make paladins more durable. Plus you dont need to grind runes. You can use a free upkeep rune etc....

Both trolls and paladins require a lot of investment, but paladins for the role they play (anti-undead) are just VERY strong, whilst Trolls are just, slow and sturdy nuisances, they don't do a lot of damage and they don't have an optimal usage, however i gotta say that War Banner is definitely a godlike room improvement, much better than the Guardian sanctum, imo get both but field a stack with some paladins.
