Tweeking mage power?
I think I'm missing something here that might help me a bit.
Point is i left it as is always, and never gained a level, i think you better move it day 1 cuz its broken on start position i think
A lack of balance.
My advise:
Story mode.
Easiest map.
Focus on leveling up your tower asap.
Build as many armies as you can afford and keep leveling them.
You shoud only not be fighting if your healing.
Otherwise.
Move, Kill, repeat.
In my experiance.
An high level unit will slaugter low level units by the sheer power difference between the two.
Better advice would be to hold off buying for another 6 months or so.
yeah, i dunno, i think they wanted to make the game hard, as many 4x out there too easy, even on hardest setting. Impossible level here is pure suicide.
yeah ive found what your saying to be true, except for the easier map imo, isnt easiest
Heres the thing, the easiest map your in the damn center, as a Civ veteran thats bad, you wana start in the corner away from rivals, i start 5th position and i sometimes dont find anyone till weak 5.......also like the orc town close y where i can get a orc barrack, etter then human imo
naw......i mean ive had a lot of fun with the game .....even tho i learned i have to play on easiest level
Who would have thunk, a game with only one map, could be so hard, so much to do, and actually had fun, even tho the learning curve is hard
Also, a tip on fighting the resurrecting units: they don't resurrect if you have a unit (or use a consumable) to cast raise dead on their corpse. I've started sending my necromancer apprentice into those fights and it makes them a lot more manageable.
Totally agree with this. Game would be super boring if the challenge was removed.
A flame golem, ice golem, or even better: a shaper golem, with a 100% lifesteal rune and some buffs should be able to solo entire enemy teams.
The rune that lets you retaliate without taking ap is also very good. I put that + lifesteal on all my melee guys. Works really well.
Once I figured that out everything became pretty easy.
You should also try to get the balloon that projects your domain, from the dwarven city at the top right. Then get some domain buff buildings and you'll have 20+ armor, lots of resistances and you'll lower enemy resistances. Then just walk up to the enemy base and walk all over them.
If you really like ranged units, you should get the human barracks in your tower and get the archer range upgrade. It gives all ranged units +2 range. Makes a huge difference tactically.
2) Start with whatever difficulty you want
3) Start at the hardest beginning (the rightest choice)
4) Help orcs and get ASAP shaman + slaves (keepers if possible)
5) Level your team with manual fights, spam spiders and kill everything you can to get higher lvl
6) Craft for your keepers at least the rune : Corrupted glyph Deathlord (corrupted adam + 9 death orbs)
7) Get as much mana as possible for your shamans (ex: pure glyph seer such as adamantium + 3 arcane orb or copper + full arcane orb) and when they get the "Motivate" skill, spam it on your keeper with the corrupted glyph (it refills your enslave full actions).
8) Finish all fights with your first round in manual fight (your keeper will get like 30++ rounds full AP to deal with the ennemy team).
PS: If ennemy is immune to melee damage, you can build 2 keepers, one classic physical damage, the other one something like death or white damage with a 2nd rune.
thks but a old post for me; figured out lots since then, good tips tho.......yeah i like the 4th choice tho, to get the extra slot barracks, altho my next is to run my tower to the left to get that orc barracks like your 5th start slot gets
omg about my tenth restart lol, ive had fun exploring the map and did litteraly almost all the quests.
Still havent quite gone to completion, but one of my games i had beaten 3 of 4, ive heard thats when all 4 come after you once you beat the 4th so ive been kinda toying with him altho he puts up quite a fight sending tier 4 units at me......whoda thunk on pansey level, but i guess when you get to week 50 even on easiest level they have good troops
Mine was able to solo the final army at the end, they couldn't do more than 1-3 damage per hit against it, and with its incredible 300+ health and lifesteal, It was truly invincible.
you know thats whats unique about this game, soooo many ways to win
