not to mention the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ massive pop right around your base when a major mage declares war on you and they seem to be able to sustain unlimited amound of full size 7 stack T3 units.
however on the "hp" honestly depends, i still largely use Wisps (picked enchanter) and when you get the Summoning book (upgrade from a building) which gives +20% damage, -20% hp and then the "upgrade Summon" spell, which gives ALL summon 20% damage/armor/willpower.
any summon will slap hard.
my Medusae for instance have 16 armor and 14 will. i could also add the bound summon which could add another +1armor/will/speed
so 17 armor and 15 will is pretty insane. that is -17 on all attacks you take, and most creature rarely ever get more than 25.
so 25-17 = 8 that is a massive damage reduction. and that is IF you don't have additional damage reduction like reduce physical or elemental. which ... all summon get -50% to. and you can get full Immunity... a single high tier elemental defense rune = 100% immune to all element.
a low tier physical rune is 20% ... so 70%, or with any earth mage ... 100% physical reduction
so yes... things can become pretty ridiculous when it comes to defenses.
Immunities are much more important than HP, who care about life when you can get 0 damage.
which is why most summons are pretty strong even without being able to level up. anything with the "ethereal" perk has -50% phys/elem making those pretty easy to cap.
and depending on what school you use you can get more ... like if you play light (guardian) you can get 50% dark as well.
if you want to focus PURELY on damage you only need to get necrotic weapons + the curse on enemy pack giving them all -25% to dark. and you can shredd everything but undead. for undead just the basic wisps can destroy anything up to t3.
and when it comes to monsters.
you NEED to increase your reputation to get the various barracks to be able to hire them from your tower anyways.
you can get dwarves, orcs, human + advanced barracks that boost all units.
you have lots of summon in the game.
one way to get almost anything tho, is getting a few orc slavers, (keep at least one, or maybe 2) with your main armies, and you will get slaves units even with auto fights.
and while the slaves are slightly less resilient (-20% all stat and damage) they have NO COST, and you tend to stack quite a few. later on you can enslave stuff like war troll (very very strong unit) or some Demons ... also pretty strong.
but befriending the cities is the only way to get more units really unless you go summoner (enchanting school) or if you picked necromancer.
that being said, everyone gets access to the Wisp, and Wisp is literally stronger than pretty much all t1 units anyways. so doesnt matter all that much.
I think stack size mechanic should be reworked - it should be a choice between using lots of cheaper units and using a few high tier units.
Currently more is always better.
