Very disappointing gameplay - How to finish quests

First, how to finish Yngrids Quest? I went to the tavern where i should go to: It said: "Yngrid must be here to finish this quest"
Ok so let's took Yngrid but she can't swim. And the tavern is covered from two rivers.
So how to get here over the river?
There are some other minor issues where i have to bring some herbs or other stuff but i can't find a quest log. So i don't know what to bring or what to do.
Nearly every turn a quest is popping up so i have no overview anymore who is wanting what....

And is this combat gameplay their seriousness?
I have a unit with 3 action points. So it can attack 3 times. But when the enemy has only 1 HP left and i kill him with the first attack, i am not able to attack a second unit?

Like some said, you just need to play and explore. You can freeze water to walk on, fly or walk on water spell. Or you could find a amulet or glyph that will help.

One thing to remember is that for Nodes/Quests that require YOUR TOWER to be nearby, you have to LAND the Tower for it to take effect, staying in fly mode does not count.
