What future holds for SpellForce: CoE?
Hi there!
The game is looking amazing, I am planning on picking it up in near future. I love Dominik Mayer's art.
I wonder if any of you know anything about future plans for this game. Any DLCs, special updates and so on? And most importantly, are there any plans for multiplayer?

That's what bothers me with the game. I saw the following possibilities mentioned:
- Traductions: something i'm not particularly keen to finance (and no, i'm french)
- Multiplayer
- More than a single elf unit

I find it a bit ridiculous to be honest for a dev company to put out a game and then answer all requests for features with "depends on the success (sales) of the game". And whose responsibility is that?

This developer provided Russian transation for Fantasy General 2 AFTER release so I see nothing wrong with it, there is some risk for them indeed. It is infinitely better than some other dev (not from this company) hinting on DLC for King's Bounty 2 and then abandoning the whole project because of low sells of base game.

Welcome to game development. Making things takes time (and money). Some things have to get cut eventually, even indie devs learn they have to cut things they want because they can't be in development hell forever.

And if a game sells poorly, why should anyone continue to waste their time on it? Do you donate your time to your workplace and give them 10-20 hours free every month? No. I doubt you do. This is a pretty minor thing, at least the game is fairly bug-free which is an actual rarity,

That's the thing though my friend, there is no guarantee here either. The game may not sell up to whatever metric has been set and thus not receive much care either. Hence i'll adopt a wait & see approach as I suspect a sizeable chunk of players will do.

Yes, I agree. But if they add a DLC without adding some localizations first, there is no way I am going to buy the DLC despite I quite like the game.

The future of the game is going to depend on sales. The message board traffic seems pretty lively to me, so hopefully it's selling well.

Please treat each other with respect and stay on topic. This is clearly about the route and plans for the future of CoE. Insults and provocations will not be tolerated and we will respond to them!

I hope long term support, updates, enhancements and DLC.

I bought the game on Feb 3, and in three days I've played for 24 hours already and not even finishing my first run. This game really gives you "just one more turn" syndrome.

The game exceeded all of my expectation. I'd say it's money well spent as it is. Hope it sells well so we can get updates and DLC.

This really doesn't strike me as fun multiplayer game. But more singleplayer variety would be very welcome.
