This or Age of Wonders 4

Looking at picking this up or waiting for AoW 4. Anyone have some thoughts on how this may or may not compare?

I would recommend both, though if absolutely only one, AOW4, it just has a lot more game options and overall looks tremendous. I wish SF COE had more game options, random maps, skirmishes, etc.

False dilemma in my view, the answer is both. And for good measure the MuHa remake of MoM.

AoW4 has bigger budget, though this game has some intriguing mechanics. I'll watch some Youtube reviews before buying :)

The tactical combat I find very similar to AoW. Lots of unit variety and upgrades.

The battle map locations are epic in this game, just fought over a little township and another on a bridge way, it was absolutely awesome in that regard.

We "were" going to get this, but are waiting for AoW4. You can customize absolutely every thing in the game; your appearances; your races; abilities; skills; spells; banners; and it has MULTIPLAYER.

Well I just bought the game Conquest of Eo at $23.99. Folks won't be finding a newly released game like this at that price point. I'll support the black bird from Fantasy General 2, I put In around 523 hours in that game and I still need to finish all the campaigns except for the main one I did manage to finish. That is the good thing about iron man mode and losing as it can be fun sometimes to lose.

I also bought some booze being a 12 pack of Mikes mixed drinks and a Box of Red wine so Conquest of EO may likely will have to wait until tomorrow for me. Since this was not a $40 game I put rest of the cash to get some drinks for tonight.

As for Age of Wonders 4, I will pick up that game as well but that isn't for at least 3 more months and most fantasy strategy gamers will get both games for sure so that isn't even something to really debate or consider on which game to get when both games are solid.

Knowing what Paradox Interactive has turned into, AOW4 is going to have large amounts of overpriced DLC and gate quality-of-life improvements behind them as well.

For me, this. I hate RTS games so turn based is a welcome change so I can actually buy one. I love magic.

nope you are so wrong because triumph studios has it in their contract not to do that, only a handful of meaningful expansions. Look at how they handled age of wonders: planetfall. It will be the same way for aow4

Well that would be great if true. Studios having that kind of independence from publishers is almost unheard of. I'll wait a while after release and see.
