The game tells you how to place commands in the first 20 seconds with an on-screen popup and tells you at the bottom of the screen. I'm not sure how much more obvious it could be made?

LOL this post has to be trolling. There is a very thorough tutorial. Mechanics are introduced one at a time, new mechanics each level.
