The last fight needs to be tuned down...
Feedback about last fight, don't read if you haven't reached there.

I'm sure there's ways to win it, but right now it feels difficult just for the sake of being difficult. After chasing through corridors, depleting half spells on army fight, reaching Balastar, taking him down once, twice, he gets up a third time and this is where things become ridiculous. My best dps chars (SS, archers) can barely do 4-5 dmg, he heals 10 every turn, does a sovereign strike that heals him for a lot, aoe-s left and right, all the while my chars are having little spells and items left after all the previous encounters.

There are games that have hard bosses, but none put them right after a long attrition phase, you start the boss fight after a checkpoint or in a different instance. Even Dark Souls seems easier from this perspective...

No no no no and no. I've managed to defeat Balastar on hard difficulty and maniac mode. It's possible. Stop trying to make great games that require wit and strategy to complete easy because you feel like you should be able to beat the game without taking a sweat on hard or even normal mode. If it's too difficult for you, you can lower the difficulty at the camp. I'm currently playing the final fight at the lowest difficulty to compare how much easier it is. I've managed to stop Balastar at the first wave of allies, and some of them are still up and fighting while there's only Balastar and a few of his cronies left of the opponent's army. So yeah. The thing that needs to be tuned down is not the fight but your difficulty setting. ;-)

My boy has Malenia syndrome lol. In the end, I got lucky that he went for Eden when doing his Life steal attack, which i promptly blocked with the special shield skill, giving him only 14 net heal, which then allowed me to kill him with finishing blow the next turn.

Honestly, Its ok that its hard, issue is they just dumped all this immunity to everything and insane scaling super saiyan power up at the end of the game as a raid boss for a very long battle. Would personally have preferred a smoother transition to it, perhaps making other earlier bosses like Kaspar and Viturin also have some of these crazy buffs, just to clue us in to the goofy super saiyan ♥♥♥♥ at the end.

I mean, he did do the full restore on the second last chapter, but adding damage resistance + immunity and giving him monster skills and melee aoe just kicked it way overboard. Thats actually what pissed me off the most lol, jebaited by Eden's overlord skill just to have all 3 of my lads get cleaved by a regular attack.

There's so many different ways to approach this. From using a whole counter setup for his things to going full aggro and not caring for his 1 shot takedowns of your team members even with Maniac mode on, since it's the final fight. But I do agree that the regen hit is ridiculous on hard. I compared it with the easiest (story) difficulty and it makes a bit sense since he doesn't hit that hard so he only regens a fraction of what he deals. On hard the amount of HP he regens becomes ludicrous.
