As for Klara, I'm wondering if she's a dev's Mary Sue self-insert because like you said, we constantly have to hear about how awesome she is and any time she does ♥♥♥♥ up, the story conveniently absolves her of responsibility, which comes at the cost of character development.
She also has Charlie's Angel (2019) power levels in that she's unrealistically competent at everything she does and outshines everyone else at the same time. You mean to tell me that Klara's suddenly a grand strategist capable of leading an outnumbered army of the best soldiers in the land (that she masterfully trained herself) to victory despite being caught in a pincer attack that only happened because she ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up her troop movement, even though her experiences only include leading a handful of mercs before going solo with Johanna, whose talent for strategy is why Klara kept her around?
Who writes such characters, seriously.
