Even so, at the very end the enemies blocked my path with my cart literally 3 tiles away from the escape marker. I ended up completing the mission by focusing the 1-2 enemies directly next to the cart and blocking its entry to the escape marker. Barely made it because the enemy archers hit the cart to 1/5 HP. Having range dps helps, but the trick for me was making sure there were no enemies adjacent to the cart which prevents it from moving.
Due to secondary class training,I didn't use sorcerer, battle mage, and only one warlock that not mastered(2 bishops of course, but not traditional choice). It's a bit hard for a Lv50 squire
to defend 3 or more attacks and stay alive. In fact,I used 24 turns, and 2 stones helped to kill more than 5 enemy units, sometimes boss included.
In fact, except ch 16,Balastar's main force is too close, all equipped horses and impossible to block,Once you have a high level army,ch 21 and ch 23's enemy can all be defeated.
