Other characters that die will return their stuff.
Some characters will leave for a few chapters to do other things. Careful - they take their equipment with them but they also return with said equipment.
I, too, read that reply and was worried; is it fairly overt when its going to happen? Or can you at least remove their gear post mission? Is there a good reason to leave them with gear, such as for example they show up mid mission later?
It is usually very obvious when a character leaves for a while so you can take away their stuff. Because these decisions are mostly done inside of your Camp and it's up to you, always, when you end a Camp-day.
It is not recommended to let them keep their stuff other you have no other use for it because if they show up in a mission, they usually show up at the end and not as an asset. There is maybe just one single case where it might be smart to keep the character with a bit of equipment even if the character is very often not available because that time (and only that one time) the character will appear as asset. But in my game, they had their own equipment then and I never gave them some so even then they didn't became useless.
In my game, it was literally just one time where I was angry and that was with the, in theory, avoidable death because that character then vanished with a horse and a legendary item so go me. But that was almost at the end so I said "ah what the heck, ♥♥♥♥ it."
In other cases of death I got the equipment handed back, always.
I love the way you guys constantly improve stuff.
Now how is that for service. Thanks!
Oh don't you dare and tempt me. x)
