Prestige quest: Clearing bandit campsites

I have this as a prestige quest and I just attacked a bandit camp as an optional battle. It isn't listed as being cleared - possibly because I don't think there were the required 20 bandits opposing me. Is this a quest I need to clear in another chapter by fighting more bandits?

Bandits are like weeds, they keep popping-up and you need to go out and pull 'em -- often. Don't worry, there will always be another bandit camps and I recommend using them for training new skills to meet the prerequisite for new classes; Eden learning to use Elemental magic, for example, to be eligible for the Overlord class.
