Did they remove the "Triple Whack/Chop"?

As in, the ability to use a farm tool 3 times in a row with rapid button presses.

Say, till 3 tiles with a hoe, chop 3 times with an axe, or whack 3 times with a hammer?

Cause i've tried it with the hoe and axe, and it seems to have been removed (can only do single actions now instead of rapid lumber chopping and tilling).

I had the same suspicion but I played so much of 1, 2 and 3 that I mix them up sometimes so I wasn't sure.

I think so, at least I haven't been able to use it either (which is a pain because it made them somewhat decent weapons early on).

I believe its still there, just can't do it with cheap tools

It kind of becomes useless once you have better tools though, at least I tend to only use charge unless I really am low on energy once I get higher tier tools.

Can confirm you can tripe whack, I just don't believe you can do them with the first level of the tool.

It remains useful throughout the game for accuracy if you're leveling up specific crops by only using one or a few of each seed, makes it a bit faster to plant some new ones down - I used it a lot!

Ohhhh nice. I was worried cause it really sped up the lumber/stone gathering in the lategame.

yeah, like everyone said, Only the cheap tools can't be used three times in a row. Everything better than Cheap can.

I haven't even started playing but it'd be useful to know beforehand.

Once you have upgraded your tools, simply do the action 3 times in a row quickly, it will chain the animation, making it faster than if you did it 3 times one by one.
It is particularly helpful with the axe and hammer when taking on stumps and big rocks.

For the hoe it also moves you forward between the actions, allowing you to do 3 tiles quickly.

Just spam click and if the action happens in three quick successions on its own, then it worked.

you can triple-whack charged axe/hammer. it does the full area rapidly.

The issue with charged tripple whack (or quadruple when charged if I remember correctly) is that you tend to drop too many items on the ground at once and some start to vanish right away.
It's frustrating when a rare drop vanishes like that.

EDIT: I was more talking about the tripple whack with a hoe for what you quoted though.
