Extracting the files is quick, and many files are the same as the 3ds and Switch versions (such as dialogs and game data). I made a post about it in the Rune factory reddit.
Changing files is as easy as placing them inside the Bundle folder. I just submitted an old 3ds mod I made turned PC mod in NexusMods, just waiting for them to approve of the Rune Factory 4 game category.
I will eagerly await for this to be expanded further, HELL YEAH
However, I have yet to hear of any way to adding new data, such as dialogue lines or flags (which is a component in making event mods, like what the oh-so-sought-after Venti mod would require). I recall on reddit that you mentioned that file size must be the same, and so could be the limiting factor. What needs to be done in order for this barrier to be bypassed?
1: max lv for equipment upgrade to be increased (or a level reset would work as well? As long nothing else is affected)
2. Items that can be stacked in bag to be 99 or more (holding items to be still max 9 to avoid bugs and crashes)
3. And esthetics. Instead of having gold or stats staying "1569", it's easier to read if its "1,569". If your rich, it takes ages to count just how rich you are
Like what is easier, to tell if you have hundreds of millions or bilions if the numbers look like:
7368466235 vs 7,368,466,235
