A decent virtual escape room, though I have a few caveats to my recommendation.

Great:
+It's a virtual escape room, and there can never be too many of those.
+Some of the puzzles are really elegant.
+Overall the difficulty is higher than previous games, which often felt too easy.
+The music creates a mysterious atmosphere without becoming overwhelming or repetitive.

Needs Work:
-Not totally colorblind friendly.
-Can't disable mouse smoothing which is really irritating (but it can be reduced by increasing mouse sensitivity).
-Gamepad controls are clumsy.
-Long, annoying pause after solving each puzzle.
-Some puzzles feel challenging not due to complexity but due to obtuse clues.
-Some of the "hints" are actually important clues necessary to solve the puzzle and shouldn't be locked behind the hint system, while others are totally unhelpful and don't address the parts of a puzzle most people would actually get stuck on.

If you can deal with all that, go for it! You'll need a notebook though. Be prepared to write a lot of stuff down! And don't be afraid to use the hints if you get stuck. Some of them really ought to just be normal clues.

I have lost count of how many escape room games I have played by now, but I know for sure that I cannot recommend this one.

Great graphics and scenarios, but that's all. There are puzzles that don't have sense or cannot be solved because there are not enough clues, so there can be more than one solution (I have found this problem with at least two puzzles). The poor and ridiculous plot is not interesting from the very beginning, so you are a little out from the game all the time.

Besides, some puzzles are harder than it should be because the great majority of the items are on the wrong scale. When you grab an item it is bigger than it should, sometimes covering half of the puzzle you are solving, so placing the item in a specific and tiny place turns into a 'trial and error' game because you cannot see where the place is.

It's just a compilation of bad puzzles with nice graphics and a really bad interface. Not worthy even on sale.

Between Time is third game from mc2games and, in my opinion, it is their best release to date. I enjoyed both previous titles (Palindrome Syndrome and Tested On Humans) which had well thought out puzzles but could be a bit confusing at times.

In Between Time, the interface has been slightly tweaked and seemed more intuitive. The development team has done a great job providing visual clues on related puzzles and there is a gentle hint system if you are stuck. They also posted a full solution guide which I only referred to once. This game has a time travel theme so it is played in five distinct environments, each with a new set of diverse puzzles. Most are easily solved if you are paying attention, as clues tend to be in plain sight.

Achievements are story based and completing the game results in 100%. I spent about 6 hours working through the past, the present, and the future and I was sorry to see the game end.

I recommend this to those who enjoy puzzles with a basic story thread and a surprise ending. It is one of the better 'Escape the Room' games I've played in awhile.

A very well made "escape room", which primarily relies on the high quality of puzzles. The plot is present, as a time traveler we wander through different eras, hunting for treasures, solving insidious riddles and communicating with the artificial intelligence of a time machine. I liked the plot twist, if the whole story were a little more ambitious, it would be perceived even better. The main character sometimes spoke in a strange way, leaving the impression of excessive mechanicalness in his voice. But it's worth talking about the most important component of any game in this genre - puzzles. They are beautiful. I totally disliked just one (with levers on a mechanical piano), all the rest are pure pleasure, really making the player's brain work. A wide variety of types makes it possible not to get stuck, but to constantly improve your inventory of solutions. Here you need to pick up the code, here you need to apply spatial thinking, here you need to include your inner mathematician, here you need to build a coherent logical structure. The game does not let you get bored, and this is the most important thing, and the feelings of inspiration that regularly visit the player add the necessary joyful emotion. The game is not that big, there are only 5 chapters in it, but they are saturated to the eyeballs, fans of clever riddles will definitely like it.

I play nothing but puzzle games. I think the puzzles in this game are ridiculous, some are just stupid hard. If you're going to design really hard puzzles, make sure there are plenty of hints to get you through it. Some of the in game hints are as bad as the puzzles.

I've been playing puzzle games forever. I'm very open minded and enjoy puzzle games of all types, even different or quirky ones. This one just didn't do it for me. I have a logical mind. And I even participated in the original Treasure Quest which I believe was the very first computer PC game from the 90s where you won a million dollars and David Blaines Live treasure hunt challenge where you won $100,000! I made it right up to almost the end. Those book puzzles were insanely impossible and even contained errors which threw players off, yet I somehow made it to the very final stage! But this game is just terrible. None of the puzzles or even hints make any sense whatsoever. Maybe to the puzzle creator and a few others but it's just not for me. None of us people of varied minds could understand the logic behind any of them. While I appreciate the effort and time the author put in to do somehitng different, it's just a Hard pass.

The first game was better. The puzzle lack of logic and they don't give you enough clue to solve them. I wish it was better made. Forced to look at the solution for half of the puzzle.

I'm a fan of escape rooms and puzzle games so I really wanted to like this game. However, I found a lot of the puzzles to be obtuse and hard to figure out what the goal even is while other puzzles were too easy. It's a difficult balance to get right and I think this game is a little off. There is a hint system but not every puzzle has one and sometimes the hints aren't that helpful. I think it would be nice to have multiple levels of hints on a timed system similar to how The Room handles it.

What I do like is the time travel theme and the pretty environments. The story is pretty lacking but if the puzzles were good it would make up for it.

- 5 levels that take about half an hour each to complete
- hints are just bad and often don't help at all. there is only one possible hint, if you are still lost... too bad
- levels are very small, still the game manages to put clues at the furthes location possible so that you have to walk back an forth between places to put the clue into the puzzle
- many clues are really bad and require thinking around x edges before getting at what the game actually wants
- the story is kinda cool but also very predictable
- graphics are nice
- it really infuriated me that you have to click on a symbol in order to be able to access a puzzle, especially in the last location these symbols are quite far away from the puzzle and are annoying to interact with
