Game don't start after crash
The game crashed and now it won’t launch anymore. I can’t play...
I uninstalled and reinstalled it, but nothing works... When I try to launch the game, it says that UE4 has crashed and refuses to start.

Please try verifying the integrity of the game files through Steam. This can often fix issues caused by corrupted or missing files, especially after a crash. Here's how to do it:

Open Steam and go to your Library.

Right-click on the game and select Properties.

In the left menu, click on Installed Files.

Click Verify integrity of game files.

Steam will then check your game files and replace any that are missing or corrupted. Once the process is complete, try launching the game again.

Let me know if the issue persists after that!

I followed the file integrity verification procedure.
It says that all 529 files have been successfully verified.
But the game still refuses to launch.
It shows a UE4-STF error.

The message below is as follows:
LowLevelFatalError [File:Unknown] [Line: 729]
BulkData compressed header read error. This package may be corrupt!

Hey,
you can try to turn off the Steam overlay. That could help!

Best,
Skoddy

Thank you, I just disabled the overlay but the game still won't launch.
The UE error message is the same.

Damn, but I have another thing worth trying out!

What generation Intel cpu do you have?

This issue has been found to be related to intel breaking certain instruction sets on newer gen CPUs. Typically the fix is to do the following in these exact steps, as steam will sync a broken save or config file across multiple machines, or repopulate back to your own.

1) Disable cloud saves.
2) Close steam
3) Complete uninstall of all STF related content, saves and config data included on all machines affected.
4) Restart machine
5) Re-install the game

Best,
Skoddy

I have a good system:
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 8-Core Processor @ 4.70 GHz
32GB of RAM

I'll follow your instructions and get back to you to let you know whether it worked or not :)

I don’t understand, I followed the procedure correctly.

I disabled the overlay.
I disabled cloud saves.
I uninstalled the game.
I closed and relaunched Steam.
I reinstalled the game.

But when I launch it, it still shows the same error!
How is that possible if these are new files?
I’m lost here…

That's really weird. I'll try to find another solution.

Graphic drivers are up-to-date?

Can you send me an Unreal crash log file?
(Path: PC > Windows > Steam > steamapps > common > Survive the Fall > STF > Saved > Crashes. Log is folder named UE4CC-Windows-manydigits. Seek folder that has corresponding time to crash, zip it and post it to us.) The folder steamapps may be hidden, unhide via file browser (View > hidden elements).

I have a graphics card: AMD Radeon RX 9070 - 16 GB.
I will update the drivers and then repeat the entire previous procedure.

If it crashes again, I will send you the files.
Thank you!

It doesn't work, the drivers were already up to date.

The directory doesn't exist. But on the crash screen, I chose to view the files.
Here is the directory I found:
C:\Users\Win\AppData\Local\STF\Saved\Crashes\UE4CC-Windows-77219BEF423C100B13660097FCBBB8B3_0000

There are 3 files inside:

CrashContext.runtime-xml

CrashReportClient

UE4Minidump.dmp

I zipped them and uploaded the zip file here:

Thanks for sharing, we will investigate!

Another thing you can try is to manually delete the STF Folder in your LocalAppdata, so it should be here:

I went through the entire procedure again and also deleted the %localappdata%\STF\ folder.
It works, and the game launches again! =)

Thanks <3
