Which ending is considered "Canon" (Spoilers)
TLDR at the bottom.
I understand Citizen sleeper is an open ended game with the ending being decided on the player, but I would like to know which ending is considered the 'most correct'.

For summary purposes, there are 3 major endings to choose from - Death, Leave, or Stay.

Before the addition of the DLC, roughly 50% of the major quest people are split between staying and leaving. After having played the 3rd episode of the Flux, you are informed that the Eye will die eventually and that more of the major cast/families are fleeing the Eye.

I chose the Stay ending, and I am so glad that the devs finally put 1 Stay ending w/ credits, but wow I did not get the satisfaction of having made the 'right choice', not that any ending choice is right.

So TLDR, I want to know if fleeing the station was always the intended ending for this game? The game gives you around 4-6 chances to gtfo the Eye but only 1 ending for staying... I can't help but feel like I'm in the wrong side for staying >.>

The Leave ending references a few plot points from the Stay ending, so it seems like both outcomes were put in motion regardless of your decision . I personally thought the Stay ending was more satisfying. I feel really desperate to help "save" all the characters I had met on the station. So, I had to at least see if it was possible, because stay did feel like the "wrong decision" during the game.

The stay ending tend to tie up the most loose ropes, compared to the leave ending, but frankly, I loved Aki too much to stay behind, she was such a great character.

Do you mean from the standpoint of the potential sequel?

I'd assume it would have the world in the state you have it at the end of the Purge DLC, but whether the sleeper had left the station or stayed on it would be left unsaid.

Interesting question you raise here.

I played CS several times with various endings, enclosing staying on the eye to the very end.

I was also confused this was not credited with an achievement. So I first thought of having missed a single task.

But after my last - (all tasks fullfilled)- run, I think the "stay" option is the best possible ending from the perspective of the game. Optimum is in combination with "The Three Body Problem".

Lem and Mina staying on the eye adds a special note. Visiting them every second or third cycle was a constant part of the gameplay.
What convinced me in my opinion at last was Lem and Mina staying on the eye and not joining the flottila!

I have to say I feel the most peaceful/ reconciled with this ending. Lots of characters stay together and try to build up a very near future.

When reading Sleepers thoughts for all other endings, a major point was always him following other dreams or ideals. And the future to build up is far far away on planet/ system more imagined then real.

Just my 5 cents on this great game.:sleeperengage:

Wait a minute. Lem and Mina can stay? How can we do that? I thought it was a given that they'd just leave for a distant colony

Hi raffalleeo,

Lem and Mina stay at the eye when you do the following:

Get the tickets for you and Lem/ Mina by doing jobs for Castor.

When entering Lems Appartment with the tickets, do not tell him you have them! A few dialouges later you get the option crushing the tickets - do so. Lem will never know he would have had the option leaving with Mina on board of the Sidereal Horizon.
you all three go then watch the Sidereal H. leave and Lem is completly OK with this, He talks about building a life on the Eye for him and Mina.

I hope having answered your question.:sleeperengineer:

Do you get any interactions with Lem and Mina if they stay on the Eye? Besides their presence in the last DLC episode?
raffalleeo May 6, 2023 @ 6:17am
Their departure made me sad, because I felt like living on EYE was a better option than slaving on a ship for 10 years, then building a colony for years probably and then "MAYBE" being home there ( only Mina of course ). I shouldn't have given them the tickets!
Thanks for the answer.

Hi kia256,

Unfortunatly no real interaction besides the meeting at the docking bay for the flottila. There you have some intense moments with Mina when staying.

But Lem and Mina still live in the old appartment, that reappears as a playable spot.

You can go there any cycle and "hang out with Mina". That means you get extra energy for your dices.

In fear of nerding out, i think staying is the “correct” choice for the main 3 endings, except for the dlc ending, because there both options are equally correct.

You’ve (supposedly) helped everyone you could, you did all you needed to do on the Eye, and i feel like it’d be best to finally move on from it. No more corporations, no more trackers, no more manipulation, you’re finally able to be free from it all

But staying is also valid, both of these choices ends in getting booted out, so to me both are “canon” endings. The Eye stays afloat, now looking like the abrasive side of a sponge, but still operational, you have the friends who stayed behind with you still, and the life you made there.

Both of these endings are just as correct as the other, it just depends on how you interpret it.

but it was Lem's dream to get Mina to a place where she could have a better life, kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up to just throw it away. I think the real happy ending is letting them go then discovering all that the green space offers but not fully becoming a part of it.

Based on the events of the second game the loose canon should be concluding the Ankhita\Bliss storylines without going along with them and then helping out refugee flotilla and letting the Gardener out on Erlin's Eye.

Refugee flotilla NPCs comment on the fact that they've worked together with a sleeper before and you couldn't do that if you've left the station before the Flux crisis. There are also news about Erlin's Eye growing green and strange.
