In the long run it doesn't matter much as it just affects which skills you start with, and you can get the others with skill points as you play.
Personally I think it's best to go jack of all trades in the beginning and get all starting perks and bonuses, since they all useful and will give you a very good edge for most of the quest interactions.
Then - Self repair, Icebreaker, Haggler. This will give you a steady income and a cheaper way to repair your condition.
The rest are pretty much preferential and won't really matter at that point.
My advice, pick the one that looks the coolest, find out what you like doing for money, dump into that first, get rid of the bounty hunter either through the feng quest or through the bar tab quest then play the game however you want. And when you go for your second playthrough you'll already know how you like to play by then.
As has been said elsewhere, after the start, your class doesn't matter much.
