Make a Shipmind?

So, very little is explained, even though I maxed my engineering skill I can't see any opaque way of building a shipmind from scraps even though I have several shipmind fragments. 20% of players have this apparently, I'd like to know the actual requirements before I tick over a turn and let my last chance to get any more if I'm missing them.

You'll need to be a trusted trader on the Ort Exchange to gain access to the shipmind fabricator. From there it is just a question of having enough fragments.

If I recall correctly, but I think that's what I did.

Ort exchange is your friend. Just watch out for the bug that stops the visiting ships from selling you fragments, I needed at least 3 shipminds to complete all the quests that required one, as I recall, so consider not selling them at the spire but hanging on to them instead. I'd sold a couple of my manufactured ones by the time I needed the last one and you can only buy a complete shipmind from off-station once.

I got a complete shipmind from the hub somehow. I got a bunch of pieces from various areas. You can occasionally get one from buying salvage as well from the other merchant ship.

I had the opposite problem where I didn't realize I needed to be watching those rotating Docks and hit up the Merchant Ship for the Fragments (also didn't scavenge any frags that run despite being a Mechanist... and got one like 5 cycles in on a different character XD). The whole thing is a little vague which is a little frustrating considering how crucial Shipminds are to multiple Drives.

if you got bugged you can always buy them for 300 or try to get lucky when steeling import shipments
