lost my save

just lost all my progress of almost 200 hours, after taking the taxi to the house and back to the garage, all the cars in the garage was gone so i left the save without saving and they came back, but the same thing happend right after, so i did the same as last time, but when i entered the save i had lost everything, money, cars, etc. it was like i had started a new save, i got asked if i wanted to do the tutorial

just found a solution to this (I just lost all my cars and did this method to get them back).

You need to go into the save file directory and delete the save and enable the use of a backup (did not know the game kept backups), please note it appears the game only keeps two backups).

you can do this ingame by the following methods

1- Whilst on main menu when first boot up click on continue
2- Click on the folder icon to the right of your save file.
3- a pop up will appear showing the save contents
4- You should have 4 saves (Barn, save, saveBackup & saveBackupOlder)
5- Copy the contents of the file
6- Shut down the game whilst keeping the file directory open
7- Go to an unused save folder in the directory to paste the data.
8- Delete the file called save in the folder
9- Rename 'saveBackup' as 'save'
10- OPTIONAL rename 'saveBackupOlder' as 'saveBackup'
11- Now startup the game as normal and click continue on your new save.

so i basically just move save 1 to for examle save 2 and then its fixed? and if i do that, will it still have a backup? thx

yeah it should be fixed. just delete the file named save and rename the backup as save and it should boot up from what I experienced.
