How do you fill the Gas Can at the station?

i've tried pouring the fuel over the hole and holding right click and sticking it to the can. there doesn't seem to be a lid but i do get a hand symbol when i hover over where the lid would be but nothing happens when I click

You have to be at a certain angle to pop open the gas can lid - I've found crouching once and tapping it on the side works pretty well. I've resorted to just filling up the tanks themselves now. Then ensure it prompts "filling" - You should start to see a slight hyper flash/overfill when it's full.
