Read the text on the Gitpage, they gave very easy and straightforward steps to build the repository without having to have any understanding of building a project.
It's really simple tbh and while the solar forge could use more work it already is a perfectly capable map creator/editor in the spirit of galaxy forge.
Despite using Solar Forge, I consider myself part of what the devs called "broad public". as I still prefer Galaxy Forge. To each his own I suppose.
Yeah it needs to be an in game feature like it was before. Why it's not at release is a bit strange.
