Cheers.
Not much gameplay wise tbh, the standouts are that missiles are actual objects now and can be shot down by turrets that actually track them, plus planets have moving orbits that regularly change their phase lanes, meaning planets that used to be cut off could suddenly become neighbors. There aren't many new units, but many mechanics have been overhauled and gotten more depth plus a metric ton QoL stuff. It's basically the same game as before, but better pretty much
Yeah generally speaking. Like i said above Diplomacy is a bit barebones and the Ai basically never engages with it, but as far as combat and eco tactics go there is quite a lot of depth, and the harder Ais are quite competent on that front
Now as for someone who never played Sins 1 that won't mean a whole lot, but basically Sins is a hybrid 4X/RTS game, more RTS than 4X. If you like RTSs you'll probably like this.
You really are'nt missing anything if you never played Sins 1. The gameplay is largely the same with each faction playing slightly more different than 1. In a sense it was like the transition from Age 1 to Age 2.
Ah, and the battles are gorgerous to look at.
You don't need to edit the settings file. Use Ctrl-shift-s in-game to open up advanced settings. We are working on making them more accessible and adding some missing ones.
