Works on linux
Just chiming in to say it works o my linux mint desktop
AMD Ryzen 5 1500
Radeon RX 580 [ or something]
Finished the tutorial just fine, may update if anyone asks

UPDATE 8/16/24: After opening the game for the second time and on, the Stardoc Luncher is imovable and invisable. Aside from that, it is still closable and functional. Game still runs prefctly fine.
Also, runs fine on my steamdeck too, admitedly the controls need to costomized.

Were you able to play multiplayer? When I try to join my windows friend I get a "Simulation framework does not match" error message.

Solo runs fine.

Pop_OS!
5800x3D
7900xtx
I'm running Garuda Linux (Arch Linux) and have no problems, I haven't tried multiplayer mind. I'm interested to see how the Steam Deck works, stupid launchers can be a problem, also a major lack of graphics options to change in game.
Confirmed to work Linux Mint 22.
I had issues with the launcher though, could not click on start. Fixed it by renaming sins2.exe to StardockLauncher.exe (and rename the old launcher). Once in game it looks fine.

After i play for a couple of hours will add the report to protondb :)

Please update if this works ok (esp for longer games), I really want to buy this
Works with proton so far. Variable refresh rate seems weird tough. My game still renders 400+ frames.
Antialiasing seems to not work properly.

Fails to launch on Pop!_OS for me. Makes it to the launcher than gets "App is not responding" over and over.
Try disabling the launcher by adding the command below to launch options.

Right click game > Properties > General > paste code below into launch options box

%command% /nolauncher
Actually mine was doing that too. Just wait and it will load. Either don't click anything or click wait.

It was showing a gray blank background while loading before the intro videos. Should not take more than 20-30 seconds to get past it but maybe a minute if you're hardware is slower.
The command works to get rid of the launcher, but after the "app is not responding" message pops up I get a window titled "ALERT @ eos_online_service_provider(813)" that says something about "Epic Game Ownership is unknown."
That's annoying. I was able to launch it fine on pop. Have you tried verifying the game files?

Not sure why it wouldn't work.

I get this error in PoPos
"Epic Game Ownership is unknown. You must start the game when connected to Epic at least once before playing offline. If you believe that you have received this message in error, please view our troubleshooting guide. If the problem persists, please visit our support forums.

version=28.2.0 (179)
log=C:\users\steamuser\AppData\Local\sins2\logs\sins2_log_344.txt"
@Flamadiddle, I got the same error! But I actually just found a solution that works for me.

When I run the game under Proton 9 it made it through the introduction cut scene all the way to the main menu. Haven't tried playing yet, but it's promising.
Strange. Sounds like I got lucky dodging these launch errors.

I have tried with Valves Proton versions and they worked fine but I am running it with GE-Proton9-11. Maybe give that a try?

Search for ProtonUp-Qt in the pop!_shop and install. Then run ProtonUp and click add version to install the latest.
Once done in steam right click sins > Properties > Compatibility > Select Proton9-11

You can also try with valves experimental Proton version if you dont want to use GE Proton.

I played the tutorials on linux under GE Proton 9.5 just fine with no issues.

Edit: Just played 2 hours of a 10 vs 10 with AI with no issues.
