Sins of a Solar Empire II

Sins of a Solar Empire II

Does unfair ai always team up?
I'm trying to beat unfair ai and I started a 1 v 1 v 1 map. On my first attempt they both started attacking me at the same time whilst ignoring each other in the same gravity well. So they must have made peace.

In my second attempt I locked teams. But still as soon as I send my fleet to orange the yellow player will attack me. When I retreat, he also retreats. They don't attack each other even though teams are locked and they are not in the same team.

Finished the game and the ai only killed 200 and 400 ships meaning they really only battled me.
ive noticed something similar with unfair AI, i actually find the nightmare and impossible AI easier as they dont tend to ally eachother but unfair AI just loves to ally up

I recall the AI having a bias against players, so that is quite likely.
AIs can and will ally one another. It wouldn't be so bad if you could eaily tell what sorts of deals each player has (like you could in Rebellion).

Like you just noticed, if you aren't proactive with FFas trying to get at least a non-agression pact as soon as you meet another AI, chances are they will end up teaming up against you.

Part of your issue may be that thr ai seems to be omnipotent at a certain difficulty level and above. I constantly see enemy fleets turn to run the moment I right click reinforcements on a planet, which they would have had literally no way of knowing about, and I see enemy fleets pass mine to attack the planer I left moments ago far, far too often.

They have a bias against the strongest player - human or otherwise. However usually it is the human player. And that is how it should be, if you already are the top dog getting the AI to kill each other would make an already favourable position into a walk in the park.

I created fixed teams so that is not possible.
