CPU intensive after update

Hi i just got an update for the game, then suddenly the game became CPU intensive and my tempt went high, anyone get the same situation?

Yes i do, my temps went from 38C idle to 86C and i actually paused the game and alt tabbed and temps were still climbing so nothing was actually going on in game... something is wrong with this patch.

I have a screen shot from GPU Z showing the instant spike in temps but cant share it on steam

Yeah everyone so far with this issue is on the same chip. Can you send your log and your version of the ctrl-backspace image i posted?

I can try, the game ran mostly fine prior to this patch only dips in FPS were during huge battles and CPU temps fine all the time.

So it cant be the chips fault has to be something youve enabled within the game, hopefully you can fix it lol

It's doubt its the chip's fault. I need to narrow down which change is affecting that chip so I'm trying to grab info from everyone. We don't have that chip in house unfortunately.

Try it, its very easy to see i launched the game didnt even have time to cap the planet as vas and my temps were 86C...

Got a heat warning from my monitoring systems when i played the game. Tried 2 time and both times warning after short time. Sorry but i refunded the game now. Its dangerous for my system and noone will pay me a new system when this game kills it.

And sorry but releasing patches that can lead to overheating systems..... it says alot about your quality assurance. Nothing personal but thats a NO-GO

Sorry about this problem. We had thousands of people try out the test build over the last week and didn't run into this. We'll fix asap once we can track down the cause.

Yes this is a major issues, im happy someone posted this and i just didnt start playing the game and let it cook my CPU...

Major f up by the devs! This is some serious stuff, 33k people playing and no one has a 7800x3d? I wonder how many people monitor their temps? I mean the guy above didnt know how severe this is but his CPU was at max operating temp, i closed the game 3C before max operating temp, these CPUs are not built top run at MAX operating temp for long periods and will try throttle then shut down eventually.

This patch needs pulled ASAP

if you get a heat warning(whatever that is, is it literal bios shutdown or what?), your system is bad, period, either cooling issue, HW issue or bios/firmware(unstable oc, low fan speed/off etc.), there is no chance for "SW"(games,apps etc.) to actually "kill" your HW

while there might be a SW bug in the game which might make your cpu looks like it runs 100% synthetic workload, it simply HAS to withstand it without issues, unless your cooling is wrong, OC is unstable or there is some HW issue

This is wrong... i have perfectly good cooling and ran this game at 165 fps prior to this patch no issues... i launch the game and pause it then alt tab and the temps just keep going up... yes 100% they will cause damage if youre not careful...

if your temps go up, that is fine(since the cpu is actually doing something), if your temps go over the TJmax(and the cpu is actually thermal throttling), you have some issue with cooling, since it therefore cannot handle the max TDP of your cpu

there is no chance for SW to push your CPU over the max allowed TDP, unless you mess up the OC in bios, if you go over TJmax, your cooling is wrong, period

personally i’d start with checking the cooler if it sits properly on the cpu(and is properly screwed in, also reapplying the paste), also there is a possibility that your cooler is simply not good enough to handle actual 100% workload(tdp) of your cpu
