So erm.. when will actual "new" content come?

Howdy great peeps,

I played this game back in 2012 like no other (100s of hours in a matter of weeks),
but the current version has nothing "new" and it even removed the pirate faction.

So, when exactly is NEW content coming? It's no wonder the game didn't sell well,
it is just a remaster with nothing new added except better graphics/user interface.

I'm really wanting to buy it but it seems like wasting money, honestly (IMO).

While I've come to notice and greatly appreciate the behind the scenes changes that were made to the underlying systems, I do feel disappointment that there was nothing "new" new.

For myself who already played the original to death, it feels bad to not see any drastic changes/additions/ideas that really bring some major innovations/evolutions to the formula taken from the many 4x and other space games since the original sins.

I hope we'll see more of the new ideas in the DLC.
