I sure hope you are correct. I want a 4'th faction and I hope its a zerg type one. We need some biological ships and stuff.

Well, they probably already have a design in mind and beyond that we have no clue. Granted they have not started on it much yet. Realistically I would expect something from the devs on this in maybe 6 months after release and in following, it would probably be the last major expansion/dlc would be my guess.

Not until maybe the first XPAC.

Or it could be the opposite. A fully synthetic race. Maybe one that tries to assimilate everyone like the Borg or that could be the "Rebels" of the faction.

That would mean just more of the conventional ships we already have, made of metal and whatever else they are made from. I really hope for the zerg race since that would mean organic ships and more diversity in ships.

If nothing else, an organic race would certainly bring the opportunity for very different gameplay to that faction's design.
Depends how different they wanna make them from the others though.

be kinda fun if there was some sort of species that ruined planets for the vast majority of biological life (by terraforming planets into something that can't be recolonized) which requires planetary destruction in order to truly quell the threat.

Just use Tyranids then :) Its just they don't terraform them, they just eat everything they can find on the planet. Destroying the planet would be far to much for an in game mechanic since so much its tied to using the planet but having to make it viable again after the nids had some fun there, that would be cool.

i'll argue that organic threat would not really fit.

considering vasari have nanites, i would rather believe a synthetic faction base on rototics and technology would fit the narrative and immersion much more than a random xenos.

which would make more sense since they are fleeing from it, self replicating nanite that went awhole making their dark fleet flee througt phase gate seems more probable,

not to mention vasari have a humanoid/alien/insect style of their own.

the game aesthetic could use robots aesthetic.

I agree Organic ships would be more unique. But that's also why they might not do it as it might be too unique, and outside of the current system.

Yeah that's what i'm thinking as well. I dunno if they will go with that plot twist that the unknown threat was the Vasari's own Nanites going rogue but I do think an out of control AI does fit the narrative better than a new Zerg race out of no where. But we will see.
