They still here cooking up something or did they leave?
wooooooooooooh!
I'm not trying to ♥♥♥♥ all over the devs or their dreams here, I'm just saying it as a point of reference: People like having Synergies that span OUTSIDE of just getting little stacking stat boosts and changing between snipers, shotguns, rifles and pistols.
And hey, maybe when the game is truly finished, it might be great and worth coming back to. But as it stands, it's very bland especially compared to other roguelikes. It's not a BAD game, it's just...bland.
Like, if this was my first taste of roguelikes, I'd be quite pleased. But I've played so many AMAZING roguelike games here on steam that doing "Ok" isn't enough to make it worth the $20 asking price. Maybe $5? $10 at most so that it would be easier to throw friends a copy?
But in it's current state it just doesn't scream "finished product" or "Intense roguelike", or even "Risk of Rain". It screams "Early access third person shooter".
Again, trying to express clearly here, I don't want the devs to think I'm just trying to
Nah man, you're not sh*tting on their work, I do share your sentiment and you explained it way better than I ever could.
I've kept an eye on this game for a while, even played the demo with friends but while we were waiting for content and progression, it never arrived and that's why we moved on.
The decision of porting the current game to other systems will only boost it temporarily but it's just a short-term goal that doesn't improve the sustainability and replayability of the game. No content means your game will die no matter the support and it's especially true for the type of games that the devs chose:
Roguelites.
So yea, I do also think that jumping on consoles versions while the game is nowhere as complete on Steam, stagnating on a Mostly Positive with less than 200 reviews, is a bad idea. I'm not a dev but this isn't my first rodeo around Coop Roguelites and when you just have better choices around the corner at about the same price, the final decision isn't difficult.
Like you said, it ain't a bad game but nowhere near completion and while this game stays without updates to maintain its current playerbase alive, I don't see any reason as to why I should invest time or money in it.
I wholeheartly agree, I've been coming back to see if anything has gotten updated yet.
Months after they posted about the console being rough and the updates coming after, we don't even have the console version yet.
Feels like the devs put way too much attention and funds in the wrong focus, console port is good when your game is raging popular and finished.
This game is far from finished, it gets boring really fast since no upgrades are worthwhile or impactful, the balance is off so much.
I gave up this game a long time ago, playing it with a friends for a good amount of hours hoping it would get better.
Shame on you devs, this is just moneygrabbing at this point.
I doubt they're gonna be able to keep it up to date with the pc version so one of the versions is definitely gonna get neglected and have a subpar experience.
At the moment this would be a game that some people play maybe a couple hours of on gamepass and then move on to something with more content/polish.
