This Doesn't Look Like A PS1 or N64 Game
Seriously, I've played actual PS1 and N64 games, and this doesn't look like anything from that era.

It is a low poly game reminiscent of this but it does not need to comply to the technical limitations of that era.
ok?

This game is literally Floating Runner with a frog gun:

With elements from Jumping Flash:

And as for the N64 it's also reminiscent of Space Station Silicon Valley https://youtu.be/PX-GdHNoRRQ?si=eAKVp8_Q0C0ClRMS

I think using the elements of an era of gaming you liked (like low-poly models and aliased textures) while not using the elements you don't like (low framerates, not many entities, minimal details) is actually a really good thing and what you SHOULD do for a retro-style video game

I don't mind if a retro-inspired game puts some options to "nerf" the game like low distance clipping, low framerate and less entity at the same time for the lol but I do agree that improving the genuine flaws is what most actually appreciate (besides some weird elitists that think that modern improvements ruin a game).
