What is the chronological order of Oddworld games?

Do this game have a story I must follow? Why is this the only one in HD, is this the first or the last?

It was released in the order of: Abe's Odysee, Abe's Exoddus, Munch's Oddysee, and then this one, Stranger's Wrath. And I think that the release order is chronilogical order for these games. Even if it isn't though, it is the best order to play them in if you want to understand the setting fully.

This one is the only one in HD. I'm not exactly sure why, but I think it's because it was already in 3D, while the other 3 weren't, so making the models didn't take as long. The other games are going to come out with HD versions. They're in the works right now.

You don't need to play the others to play this. The reason this is in HD is because the company Just Add Water were asked to port the game to the PC and they asked if they could also do a HD version. They're also working on a HD version of Munch's Oddysee, which will be coming out in a few months, and they're doing a complete remake of abe's oddysee for the end of next year.

This is a seperate storyline all together. This one is about the stranger while the rest of the games were about Abe.

Munch's Oddysee was a 3D game, I very distinctly remember playing it on the original Xbox with 3D graphics. (and having one hell of a good time)

ok, as a dedicated oddworld fan, here is how it goes. oddworld was only supposed to be four games: abes odysee, munchs odysee, squeks odysee, and a fourth odysee that was never announced. Abes exoduss was made to continue abes story to satisfy customers while munchs odysee was still in production. strangers wrath was only made to appeal to a larger audience and to compete with other first person shooters. JAW is currently working on the third odysee because the original oddworld team closed up shop and the owner of stewart gilray had a friend who knew lorne lanning (creator of oddworld) and steart asked his friend if he could meet him because he was a die hard oddworld fan. his friend said ok and upon meeting lorne lanning he started asking him questions about the oddworld and lorne lanning said that they weren't making oddworld games anymore and asked if stewart gilray would like the rights to the franchise and naturally he said yes. so now the oddworld franchise is back on track and they are currently working on squeeks odysee as well as the hand of odd and a "from the ground up" remake of abes odysee.

Abe's Odyssey was the first game & the first in series, we have its direct sequel, Abe's Exodus, Munch's Odyssey comes after that in the canon, having already established Abe as a (not quite badass) hero. As many said here, Stranger's Wrath is a very separate story, still it takes place after Munch's Odyssey.

Are we finnaly gonna finish the quintology? nice! Isnt Squeek's Odyssey the one that was supposed to finnaly show the "extinct" Meeches? if so, it will be awesome!
