2 questions about lanterns and fishing

First question:
I still have the first lantern. Isn't there a better one with a larger radius? Maybe because everything is purple and partly yellow, it would be nice if lanterns also had a different color, just for the feeling xD
(I don't mean the purple one) I think it's a ghost lantern or whatever it's called. The light only shines in front of you, making it useful in a wide radius, especially in caves xD

Second question:
Fishing depends on your fishing level to catch other fish and is it random, or like in some games, do you have to fish for certain fish (in the rain, in the fog, on the coast, in the sea, when the sun is shining, or only at night).
I hate fishing, so I'm wondering if I know if I have to fish specifically depending on the weather or if it doesn't matter and it just randomly works as I please. It depends on the fishing level. The higher the fishing level, the better the fish and chances. Maybe :)

There are certain fish that turn up in certain weather and other conditions.

There's a diver's lantern that works pretty well for me. More of a flashlight or headlamp style than diffuse.

I'm assuming from the name that diving requires quests from the diving guild and at some point you get them xd ?

Yeah. After I got that I stuck with it. But diving is one of my favorite parts of the game, so I went through those ones pretty quick.
