Find cartographer
Is it meant that we should visit a lot of islands before we find the cartographer and build our ship?

It is an exploration adventure game, so yes.

All you have to do is find a town. Towns have a cartographer. Your first boat (raft) can be built from supplies you find on the starter island.

And you will need to explore a LOT to get the resources to build the big boats.

The town cartographer will give you supplies for your first waveskipper, if you find something for him. He will send you to a pirate island to find it.

!: Raft over to the pirate island
2: Kill pirates until one of them drops the thing
3: Raft back to seaport town
4: Receive materials and build your waveskipper
5: Buy crafting stations for your waveskipper
6: The cartographer may have another quest for you to find somebody named Ebnor (this starts the main quest line)
7: Place your waveskipper, board it, and then place your crafting stations on it.
8: Never use your raft for travel again (it's OK a fishing platform though)

That's the start of the game done. :wwpirate:
