Let There be Light

I'm pretty new to the game, so maybe there are some mechanics or navigation tips that I'm missing. But in the Let There be Light quest where you have to find the lantern of revealing, I can't find the underground ruins. I've circled this island that the map took me to multiple times and no luck. Any tips/suggestions for this quest?

Maybe worth noting, my dumbass thought a random seed would be cool, so default seed locations are not applicable I guess.

If I remember right, it was an ancient ruin, but in the ruin was a 'sort of' hidden cave. The lantern was inside the cave.

I am pretty sure the clue said it was in some ruins.

The map says cave ruins, and the quest says underground ruins, so I figured it was an underwater entrance, but maybe that's wrong? It must be somewhere on land then, hmm. Thanks for the help.

nevermind, found it! It was just on the one square foot of the island i hadn't walked through yet lol.

It's a typical dungeon entrance on an island. If you don't have the lantern you can on get into the first room. As it turns out I like the lantern and use it as my usual light source now, many quests later.

im stuck trying to find it as well been running all over the island only found one ruin type but portal is to a grotto i searched but no lantern,wonder if the quest can spawn on any ancient ruins

It is IN the only ruin on the island. At the "back" of the ruin there should be a dungeon entrance that is slightly hidden. It is NOT in a dungeon that is nearby the ruin.

i have a large 4 square island would the quest area be within the highlighted are or can it spawn on any of the 4 squares, still cant find it =(

Unfortunately on 2x2 islands the map usually only gives the bottom left cell as the location. But it could be on ANY of the 4 island cells.
