Games (or novels, books, anything really) like Until Then, but more romance please?
HEAR ME OUT

Probably few people will get me, maybe no one at all. But I *crave* something like Until Then - and I mean a dramatic, well-written story with a good ending - that has more romance to it. More time, effort, and thought devoted to developing love between the two main characters.

I cannot begin to describe my feelings from playing Until Then. It's the best game I've played in a long time, but its main theme isn't love, at least not in a romantic way.

Thank you.

This might be a long shot, and I have no idea what your tastes are, but the first thing that came to mind was the anime Insomniacs After School. The show has many similarities with Until Then and checks all the boxes you are looking for. It gave me that same special and unique feeling. I genuinely think you would enjoy it. It is also far removed from the typical undesirable anime tropes and content, so you would be fine watching it with anybody.

Until Then has easily become one of my favorite games of all time, so I feel like I can relate to what you are experiencing. Unfortunately, even after thinking about it for a while, I have not been able to come up with anything else. I will let you know if I can remember any more similar experiences here.

I would be curious to know your thoughts if you watch it!
Have you tried Life is Strange or A Space for the Unbound ? The former is set in American high school and the later is set in a town in Indonesia where the hero grow up and meet her girlfriend. If you like the high school feeling of Until Then, you might like these two games (though there're not so much romance).
I also recommend Insomniacs After School , but I prefer the manga version than anime. Hope you will like it.

I've heard about it, but haven't watched yet. I had been postponing it for no reason, and at some point just forgot about it:pumpcry:
Anyway, thank you for your recommendation! I'm definitely going to give it a try.

夜鷹_视觉小说真好玩, for some reason, quotes keep including my reply in them when I try replying to your answer. Weird. Anyway.

I *have* seen some A Space for the Unbound recommendations while searching for something along the lines of what I described in the discussion, but it isn't really a romance game, isn't it? As to Life is Strange... Well, probably to no one's surprise, I am familiar with the series, even though I haven't played it. I'm more of a 2D art person and not a big fan of 3D. However, to be honest, I've seen it mentioned so many times that maybe I will try it or look into it more, at least. Thank you!

Although I might check A Space for the Unbound when I need my fix of an emotional game. Thank you.

A Space for the Unbound has been on my radar too. I should get around to playing it!

I should experience it all over again with the manga. But how the anime captured the emotional intimacy and cozy vibes was also beautiful to watch in an animated format.

It was because the italics on their message did not have the slash in them.

Took me a bit to figure that one out haha.

This game reminded me of Oxenfree a little bit. You might want to give it a try. There's two games in the series.
