Finished game. Need help understanding

Ok so i beat the game. I didnt understand a lot of things:

Who is jake? Nicole's bf or brother? Did he die in the ruling?
Is the ruling an earthquake?
What was the whole point of hallucinations walking in the hallway and talks in the lab with Louise?
So Cathy just dies like that and the story wraps up?
Why did the game start me from the beginning after watching the credits roll up and now i cant choose any chapters?

Wait.. Does this game play twice with a slightly different story ?

I really believe you should play the game through. It's a captivating story that tackles its deeper subjects phenomenally and would serve better spoiler free.

thats not the ending if you play the racing game thats just the 1st time line the game didnt ended thats just the begining of depression when finish the credits scene in marks tv after he plays the racing game at the end there will be a option that say Contiue playing click contiue the rest is up to you i dont wnna spoil
