[Spoiler don't read if you haven't played through all loops] Ending rant
Let me say this first, this is probably one of the best games or stories I have ever experience so far, the ending of the 1st and 2nd loops literally had me crying my eyes out, but let's talk about the 3rd loop ending... I just want to say WTF?! How are they just gonna do us like that by having us literally fall in love with the romance between Mark and Nicole and then end off with them basically passing each other by in the same cafe on dates with nameless and faceless random people that you have no emotional connection to? I mean, there was literally every possible sign eluding to Mark meeting Nicole by colliding with her in the hallway at their school being an anchor point in the timeline no matter what, so why the hell did the same thing not happen, especially if they lost their memories of the events? Mark would have still been somewhat of a slacker and likely forgotten to do his art project and STILL have the same collision with Nicole. I refuse to believe that after everything blatantly making it seem like they had a special connection that always drew them together that suddenly they never meet? It would make more sense if Nicole never went to their school in the first place, but the fact that The Ruling still happened which caused their families to move means that Nicole and Kate would have still gone to the same school as Mark.

The true ending just really doesn't make sense in my opinion. I know there are some people that feel like and ending like this is perfectly fine, but it still just feels like if you actually take into account the normal order of events, Mark would have encountered Nicole no matter what and likely collided with her, which would lead up to their interactions and romance just like in the first loop, but without any more of the weird things happening with the deja vu and parallel memories.

Okay update: I don't know if this was intended or not but it kinda blew me away thinking about it. I believe the girl in the cafe with Mark at the end of the game is actually Jessica, the girl that was always alone and kept vanishing in all of the different timelines. The reason I think this is because Jessica is always twirling her hair with her finger when you first see her outside of your classroom during several of the time loops and the girl in the cafe is twirling her hair with her finger as well.

Still would prefer if Nicole and Mark got back together but the fact that the girl that Mark is on a date with might actually be Jessica kinda blew my mind honestly.

My interpretation was that they leave it up for you to decide. You can believe that they could get back together again, Mark does say that he belives that this date will be the good one, after hes failed 4 times in a row. Nicole enters on that same day, meaning hes still right about it being the "good one" but hes wrong about the girl hes talking too and instead its Nicole whos at the other table.

While that would be awesome. I do think that it makes sense as to why it doesnot happen in the last timeline. Mark really focuses on his friends and his family life because that is what he was sorta ditching in the first timeline. So he doesnot even think about love or romance until he gets older. Nicole is simular, she really focuses on Piano and Kate instead of other stuff. She probally wouldnot be painting in the hallway if she and Kate were friends, Mark wouldnot learn Piano as he got over his moms death so they wouldnot have met in the Piano class etc.

I do like that theory of Jessica though. It always felt off about her the entire game and that she always was more than what was shown to us.
