I'm getting A Space for the Unbound vibes
That was a game I played before involving "normal high school kid getting into weird adventure", but that one was set in the 90s in Indonesia. This one is more modern day Mexico.

I don't speak it, but perhaps a future update can include Javanese/Bahasa?

DUDE!! YES! I was thinking the same thing the whole way through. The style, the location, even some of the story feels very similar. (Also this game is set in the Philippines, not mexico btw)
