Beckfoot Candle

So I have used the device that you put directly on the block and look at where the arrow for the candle is pointing, but no matter where I put it the blocks around it lead to nothing.

Are you sure you have it on the right place? Should be on the dot, not on the town's name. Also, you should click on the tile the arrow lands on.
