Catacombs endless enemies

Are these mobs spawn endlessly at the and of the level near hard drive mainframe? Wtf? They either destroy the mainframe or kill me and elevator doesnt freakin open. I always beat levels on highest available difficulty but this is insane

Yes they will keep spawning until the hard drive has completed it's thing. You just have to protect the mainframe until then. You'll have to interact with the mainframe one last time.
I've only done it on the mid difficulty, haven't tried hardest yet.

I haven't seen clear message to take the drive, i was busy shooting everyone and they spawned forever until I was ocerwhelmed. I was done wasting replays on that damn level, completed on easy and moved on. Ridiculous
