Whats up with the 'product received for free'?

Check the reviews and a majority of the positive ones are 'product received for free'. Seems very fishy

Check any new indie game, and a ton of them are recieved for free. It's quite normal for the devs to give away keys to advertise the game. Wish I got a free one, but alas, I paid $25 and am still enjoying it.

Anyone can check the box while writing the review and pretend they're a game reviewer or some kind of insider/content creator. All they need to do is frame their review like they're important.
